Our Launching Point for Designing a Program for Your
Organization
These topic possibilities are a starting
point in designing a creative, fun and effective presentation. You and I can
discuss what creativity strengths your group wants to solve, what creativity
strengths your group wants to enhance and what topics interest you. Then we'll adjust
the depth and detail to suit the expertise and interests of your audience. We can also discuss options for offering one-on-one or small group creativity coaching sessions where the participants pay some, all or none of the cost.
- Rekindle Your Creative Fire: Explore the 6 stages of the Creative Process and discover simple steps to move
more easily through all stages to earn the satisfaction of completing the
process. This workshop provides info in a fun format that novices and pros alike
can appreciate.
- Stop Fighting Yourself! Move
through Resistance: Call it a creative
block. Call it procrastination. Whatever you call it, every creative person
experiences some kind of resistance sometime. Resistance is not about lack of
discipline or will power, it's about neurology. Discover what’s going on in the
brain when we experience resistance (in easy-to-understand terms) and learn the 4 Step Method to effectively move through it.
- Please Don't Feed the Saboteur! You know what the Saboteur is– it’s
that nasty inner critic that is never satisfied. The Saboteur has a variety of
disguises: harsh criticism, distraction, accidents, self- destructive habits are
just a few. When you know the 5 hallmarks of the Saboteur, you can recognize it
and respond appropriately so you feed your creative spirit, not the Saboteur.
- Resolve Unsolvable Problems: What seems like an unsolvable problem is often not a problem at all; it's a polarity to manage. When you learn to identify the 8 common polarities creative people must negotiate - Structure vs. Spontaneity, Self vs. Other, Inspiration vs. Perspiration, Play vs. Persistence, etc. - you gain the insight you need to effectively manage the polarities in your life.
- To Create, First Destroy: Pablo Picasso said
“Every act of creation is first of all an act of destruction.” We can get so
attached to our identity as creative people, that we refuse to recognize the role that destruction
plays in our creativity. That refusal results in exhaustion, dullness, blocks,
creative burn-out, and other ways to self-destruct. Examine how the deep desire to be creative actually inhibits creativity and how
you can use appropriate destruction to release creative potential.
- Liminal Space Can be Fun: Liminal space is
the betwixt and between space we enter as we make big transitions in our lives –
from childhood to adulthood, from from apprentice to professional, from novice to expert. These transitions are challenging because we’re venturing into
unknown territory; the upside is that because liminal space is neither here nor there, it can
take you anywhere. Discover how liminal space
can open wonderful possibilities and develop strategies to make liminal
space more fun and your transition more effective.
- From Procrastinator to
Practitioner: Discuss and commit to
simple practices to move out of procrastination into satisfaction.
- Sorting the Junk Drawer of the
Psyche: Identify the relationship
between ego and shadow and how to release the creative potential of the shadow.
- Peer Coaching for Creative
Change: Identify and practice peer
coaching techniques to set goals, eliminate obstacles and achieve results.
- Follow the Lure of Creativity
into Spirituality: Discover how
creative play calls you to follow a spiritual path to discover and develop your
True Self.
