I guess it's about time: I just started a Facebook page for Around the Writer's Block.

I arrived late to the Facebook party, so I'm just discovering what you may have known for a long time: how versatile Facebook is for asking questions, soliciting opinions and sharing short videos, fascinating art, short and sweet observations, and information about other writers' and artists' work.

right brain, left brain
One of the cool images I share
on my Facebook page
For example, if you scroll down my AWB page, you'll discover that Debra Fisher Goldstein will be revealing fascinating insight into her creative process at the upcoming 2011 Wing Young Huie Salon Show.

Please take a look at what I've posted so far and "Like" the page so you won't miss out on the great stuff I can share there.

Facebook will be where I'll post most concisely and frequently (5 days a week, Monday - Friday).

For In-Depth Coverage

When I have more to say about a topic, I'll post on my blog,  www.BaneOfYourResistance.com. I usually publish new blog posts twice a week.

You can subscribe to the blog if you want to be sure to receive all of my deeper observations about writer's block and other forms of writing resistance.

This Imagination InkLinks newsletter is my least frequent communication. Every two to four weeks, Imagination InkLinks updates you about upcoming classes and events, reviews and provides links to some of my blog posts, reports on my Adventures in Publishing: What's New with Around the Writer's Block, and always includes a discount or gift coupon.

Your Choice

You can choose any combination:

  • Like my Facebook page to follow my daily posts
  • Subscribe to my blog for longer, bi-weekly posts
  • Continue to receive Imagination InkLinks (no action required).

You can always contact me directly at 612-722-4139 or Rosanne@RosanneBane.com.

Whatever form of connection and communication you choose, please let me know what's on your mind. What are you wondering about or struggling with? What successes (small, medium or large) are you celebrating in your writing and creative life? I really enjoy hearing from you!

AdventuresAdventures in Publishing: What's New with AWB

Mid October 2011: Gaby sent responses to my last revision. I was delighted that overall her comments were positive and even more delighted that Gaby is a true collaborator in making my book as good as it can be. Where she nudges me with questions, I often find new, betters ways of looking at the manuscript. We'll talk this week and hope to wrap up a few remaining questions very soon.

October 2011: I asked all the coaching clients and students whose Success Stories add so much to my book for final approval of the way they're quoted. Their replies, updates, good wishes and wonderful notes remind me how lucky I am to work with such talented writers and artists.

September 2011: I completed the revision and sent Draft 3 to Gaby on my target date, August 31. I feel satisfied, grateful I have an editor who has the time and inclination to really edit my book and help me make it the best it can be, tired, and if I'm completely honest, a little sad.

I see now that those extra things I fantasized I'd get around to putting in the book aren't going to happen. I'm letting go of fantasy and embracing reality -- it's a good reality, a really wonderful reality actually, but it's not as sparkly, star-studded, and popping with fireworks as the fantasy.

August, 2011: After a brief squall of resistance, I see how Gaby's suggestions will make the book much stronger. I get past the initial inertia and into to the flow. I remember what I love about revising.

July, 2011: Gaby and I discuss revisions and select a new subtitle, Around the Writer's Block: Using Brain Science to Solve Writing Resistance* with this sub-subtitle: *Including Writer's Block, Procrastination, Paralysis, Perfectionism, Postponing, Distractions, Self-Sabotage, Excessive Criticism, Overscheduling and Endlessly Delaying Your Writing.
