Imagination InkLinks Is Back!

After a technologically induced hiatus, Imagination InkLinks is back! (The service provider I previously used lost my email address database, so I'm delighted to be able to reconnect with you!)

New Formats, Same Great Information

I'm still sharing my observations about writing and creativity, but the delivery formats have changed a little.

Lately, most of my best thinking ends up in my blog, Bane Of Your Resistance, which is dedicated to giving writers like you a place to share insight and information about the many forms of writer's resistance so you can stop resisting and start writing the way you want.

Please subscribe or add it to your RSS (if you haven't already).

  • Give you Adventures in Publishing updates on what's happening with my book Around the Writer's Block: Using Brain Science to Write the Way you Want
  • Keep you informed about upcoming events, classes and other special offerings (like today's 20% discount).
You can always feel free to forward Imagination InkLinks to your fellow writers and other artist-friends.

Adventures in Publishing: What's New with AWB

April, 20011: Gaby, my editor at Tarcher, will read the manuscript in May and send me feedback in June. I'm going through mini-withdrawal -- I really miss the focus of drafting chapters.

March, 2011: I sent the complete first draft of the book to Tarcher (four weeks early - how eager am I?)

February, 2011: Closing in on completing the last chapters and feeling great!

coaching partnershipTaking the initiative to find out when I'll be revising AWB motivated me to start many other book-related tasks that had been languishing on the To Do list (like writing the Acknowledgments and researching social media).

That's the magic of taking even just a small step: movement begets movement. The trick, of course, is to make sure you're moving in the right direction. But if you're feeling immobilized by resistance, just about any movement is a good idea. It's a lot easier to adjust the direction when you're moving than it is from a dead stop.

If you've been thinking about working with me as your coach to encourage, challenge and support you in bringing your writing vision to reality, I suggest we get started now.

To help you get in motion and maintain your momentum, I'm offering you a 20% discount if we meet for a Coaching Discovery Session in May. You can also get a free coaching session - either as a sample coaching session before our Discovery Meeting (to see what coaching is like) or as your first regular coaching session.

Read more about what you'll get out of creativity coaching and what to expect in a Discovery Session at my website.

Get Moving With Summer Classes
Taking a class at the Loft this summer is another great way to get in motion. write underwater

I'm thrilled to teach my first online Loft class this summer, Entering the Flow: You know how great it feels to be in the flow - when you lose track of time and your fingers can barely keep up with the images and words pouring through your mind. Read more...

I'll also be teaching two live and in-person Loft classes:
  • Tried-and-true The Writing Habit: Talent is a gift we're all given to one degree or another. Techniques can and must be learned. But what really makes a writer is the habit of writing. Read more...
  • One of my favorites Around the Writer's Block: For some writers, it's writer's block. For others, it's procrastination, perfectionism or self-sabotage. Whatever you call it, every writer experiences resistance at some time. When you understand what's happening in your brain when you experience resistance, you're prepared to respond effectively to achieve your writing goals.  Read more...

Please call me at 612-722-4139 or send a reply email if you have any questions. I hope to hear from you or see you at the Loft real soon!
