Why Do We Avoid Our
Creativity and How Do We Stop Avoiding it?
As I've worked with hundreds of
people who want to be more creative, this is the question we keep
returning to. We avoid our creativity at times because we're afraid.
We have reasons to be afraid. Some of those reasons are valid, some
no longer fit who we are, but we hang on to them out of habit. I've
found ways over, around and through the fear. That's the essence of
what I teach.
What We Explore in Class
The difference between a pleasantly
exciting experience and frightening one is subtle, which is why
people keep riding roller coasters. We have a lot of fun in my
classes and you'll have plenty of opportunities to challenge
yourself. You determine your own experience. The degree to which you
are willing to examine your fear is the degree to which you will
expand your creative expression.
Creative process classes are designed
to fit anyone who wants to be more creative, regardless of how you
express your creativity. I enjoy working with writers, visual
artists, performing artists, healing professionals, "cultural
creatives," entrepreneurs and managers who want to be more creative
in their business, and people who just want to play more in their
lives.
Self-Determined Fees!
To honor the truth that you
are powerful and in charge of your own journey, you decide how much to
pay for a class. Participants are asked to pay a small materials fee
($10-$20) and a share of the room rent. Then you decide what you want to
pay for my time based on what value the class has for you and what is
reasonable considering your financial situation. Most people pay $15
to $25 per 2-hour class session. If the self-determined fee is uncomfortable, I
can give you a "price" for the class based on the average.
To reserve your space in a class, I ask that you send a $50 Refundable
Deposit. You can register online and then mail your deposit to Rosanne
Bane, Imagination Ink, PO Box 7063, Minneapolis, MN 55407-0063. If you
need to cancel, your deposit will be returned in full. Please give me as
much notice as you can so that someone on the waiting list can make
arrangements to join the class.
The
fees for classes offered through other organizations, such as The Loft
or the University of Minnesota, are set by that organization.
